It’s a nice restaurant, they have live music and a great bar. I got take out, the French onion soup was very good, a lot of cheese. I also ordered the short rib with broccoli and roasted potatoes. I was not impressed at all, the short rib tasted more like pot roast, potatoes were a little hard but, broccoli was al dente and very nice. Overall not sure if I would return, but it’s okay

The food was amazing! And the service was incredible, our waitress was so friendly and knowledgeable about the items on the menu. She was extremely pleasant, always smiling and just made the evening so much more special. The desserts were delicious, and the favorite part of our meal.

My husband and I dined in the outdoor area for lunch. Our server, Greg, was very friendly and quick. He made sure to check in with us that everything was correct and to our satisfaction after each dish was dropped off. The hostess and the other staff were also great! The outdoor area was beautiful and clean. It was very nice to enjoy the good weather with our meal and look out at the well maintained golf course. For starters we got the cheesesteak egg rolls and the Caesar salad. The egg rolls were tasty, but we were not a fan of the sauce, it was pretty bland. The salad was a very good portion and the croutons were delicious. For our main meals I got the Angus burger and my husband ordered the crab cake sandwich. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special either. Again it was more on the bland side. We did enjoy the generous portion sizes and the quick service. Overall we really liked the service and atmosphere, but we found the food lacking for the higher price point.

First of all, the hostess said she couldn’t seat walk-ins for 30 minutes even though there were plenty of empty tables. She said the kitchen was backed up. We just sat at the bar instead and had GREAT service. We started with a Modelo and house margarita - both $5 Happy Hour specials and worth the price. Then we had the $10 HH southwest egg rolls which were very good but came with a sweet chili sauce instead of the cilantro lime crema listed on the menu. We also shared the Peppercorn pesto shrimp wrap which was not what we expected but delicious. The shrimp was cold (on purpose) and the sauce was a little runny. We really did enjoy ourselves overall and would come back!

Dined at Sunday brunch buffet. Got there about 11:45am and was seated right away. Was a great variety to choose from. Few times the dishes were empty but they quickly replenished. For the price highly recommend.

Underwhelming

We went here last night. My high-level review is disappointing and overpriced.
My wife and I both started with the Old Fashioned Corleon. Heads up – this doesn’t resemble a typical Old Fashioned. Much sweeter.
We had the Fritto Misto as an appetizer. The calamari was hit or miss. Some was fine, some was clearly overcooked and tough.
I had the Rigatoni Bolognese. They list their pasta as “homemade” and I do believe them on this, although the rigatoni was a different shape than I expected. Much more narrow than traditional rigatoni – almost a cross between rigatoni and bucatini. The noodles tasted fine. The Bolognese was average.
My wife had the mushroom truffle flatbread. She thought they skimped on the mushrooms (picture attached.)
We also each had a glass of wine.
Total price (without tip) was $138.27. I feel that for that much money, you should get a decent dinner. We should have known better with a hotel restaurant. I guess when you have a captive audience they take advantage.
Pleasant server.
They use Tock for their reservation system. On the reservation they ask, “if you will you be celebrating a special occasion?” It was my birthday, so she checked that box. I’m not sure what that was supposed to do, but there was no indication in the service. I’m not really disappointed about that, but I thought I’d at least mention it.
Overall, I’d say it’s maybe a step up from Olive Garden. If you want Italian in downtown Minneapolis, I’d recommend Bar La Grassa but you’ll want to make a reservation pretty far in advance.

We have been coming to Travola's for over 10 years, pretty much once a week, sometimes two, and never really took the time to say "thank you". Especially to the bartenders; Alex, Emre, Joy, Cassie, and the newest in James. Oh, I forgot to mention the leadership team in Jacquelyn, Sophie and Steve, who always, always make it a point to come to our table even just to say hi. They and the wait staff make sure we are being attended to, from water-in-your-glass, to clearing our table. My wife and I have seen the place 3-deep at the bar, and they somehow find the energy, and teamwork, to maintain their prompt great service. Just last week our family from California was in town, and on quick notice, took all (14) of us for an amazing dinner, and it was easily 2-deep at the bar, with all tables taken !

A special treat; when you enter the main lobby, is to see the many different events going on. I think they can hold up to (4) events at one time. We have seen everything from weddings, to high school and family reunions. The neatest are the multicultural weddings. We've seen many beautiful, colorful Indian and other weddings over the years.

Oh, the music is always as diverse as the guests, from oldies to current tunes. Great service in the hospitality world is not easy to come by, but Tavola's is certainly the exception. Another reason to come back. thank you and see you soon. Nick
